A communal afternoon at the table, part experience, part guidance, where we explore how the most elemental pairings of food and wine begin with something as simple and as revealing as bread and butter.

This is not a traditional class. It unfolds slowly in the spirit of a European summer bistro, conversational, relaxed, and centered on the pleasure of tasting together. The focus is not instruction but discovery, how texture, salt, fat, acidity, and structure shift and respond when placed side by side.

You’ll be served French bread, sourdough, and fresh-made crackers, alongside four house-made butters, simply salted plus three compound butters, each built around curious, seasonal flavor profiles designed to highlight contrast, balance, and harmony.

These are paired with four wines, chosen specifically to demonstrate how something as simple as butter can transform the expression of a wine and vice versa. The goal is not explanation alone but discovery through tasting.

For those who want to extend the experience, order a side of French ham upon arrival to create your own perfect bites of ham, butter, and bread throughout the afternoon.
